Puente Los Leones

Puente Los Leones is a bridge in La Vega, Caracas, Venezuela, that connects the El Paraiso neighborhood with Avenida O'Higgins. It extends northward through Avenida La Paz and serves as a key connection point between multiple city districts.

The structure was completed in 1933 and marked an important advancement in Caracas' transportation infrastructure. Its construction came during a period when the city was modernizing connections between northern neighborhoods.

Four lion sculptures made of artificial stone stand at the bridge corners in Egyptian-style poses. They were created by sculptor Angel Cabre i Magriña and form the signature feature of the structure.

The bridge is surrounded by busy traffic, so be cautious when crossing on foot. It is best visited outside rush hours to have a more comfortable experience around the structure.

The bridge has been influenced by urban development projects including the Gran Misión Venezuela housing project and the La Paz traffic distributor. These construction initiatives changed the visual surroundings and how the bridge appears in the city.
