Municipio Tubores

Municipio Tubores is an administrative municipality in Nueva Esparta with Punta de Piedras serving as its administrative center. The municipality encompasses multiple communities organized within two parishes that serve different neighborhoods and settlements.

The area was a center of Spanish colonial activity from the early 1500s, particularly focused on pearl fishing operations. Economic activity centered on diving for pearls shaped the region's early development.
