Ho Chi Minh Museum, National historical museum in Phường Đội Cấn, Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Ho Chi Minh Museum is a history museum in Hanoi with eight chronological exhibitions displaying over 170,000 documents, objects, and films related to Vietnamese independence. The permanent exhibitions are labeled in Vietnamese, English, and French and guide visitors through different periods of national history.
The museum opened in 1990 and presents exhibits covering the period from 1890 to the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The collection documents the development of a political movement and its role in the formation of the modern state.
The building combines traditional Vietnamese architectural elements with Soviet-style concrete construction and reflects different phases of national influence. The eight exhibition rooms guide visitors through the development of the country during the twentieth century and make political changes tangible through photographs and objects.
The museum offers guided tours in several languages and makes it easier for visitors from different countries to access the exhibitions. All rooms are connected by stairs and corridors so that you move through the building following the chronological arrangement.
Some of the displayed items originally belonged to everyday objects and were only later recognized as historical artifacts. Film recordings from different decades show changes in urban life and document the transformation across several generations.
