Bắc Hà

Bắc Hà is a rural district in the mountainous Lào Cai Province in northern Vietnam, situated at around 1,150 meters (3,780 feet) elevation. The landscape features steep slopes, terraced rice fields, and scattered villages that blend into the terrain.

The area is accessible from Lào Cai city via mountain roads using minibus services or private vehicles. The best time to visit is October through May, when weather conditions are most comfortable.

Local families here create traditional horse saddles, silver jewelry, and wooden furniture using age-old techniques specific to their ethnic groups. These crafting skills are passed down through generations and remain deeply valued in the community.
