Baglung, Administrative district in western Gandaki Province, Nepal
The Baglung District spans 1,784 square kilometers across varied terrain, from 650-meter valleys to 4,300-meter peaks near Dhorpatan.
The region developed its first recorded settlement during King Pratapi Narayan of Parbat's reign in the 16th century, establishing Baglung Bazar.
The district population includes Magar, Chhetri, Newar, and Brahmin communities, with 91 percent following Hindu traditions and 5 percent practicing Buddhism.
Transportation networks connect through both the Kaligandaki corridor highway and midhill highway, making Baglung a central point for regional commerce.
The area contains numerous suspension bridges spanning river valleys, leading to its designation as the District of Suspension Bridges.
