JAKA Tower, Office skyscraper in Makati, Philippines.
JAKA Tower is an office building in Makati with 49 floors reaching 188 meters high. The structure features glass exterior walls and contains roughly 363 office units, with ground-level retail spaces occupying the first three levels.
Construction began in 1996 but halted at the 21st floor in 1998 during the Asian Financial Crisis, leaving the building incomplete for 16 years. Ayala Land acquired the project in 2014 and resumed work to finish the tower.
The tower represents the evolution of Manila's financial district, demonstrating the transformation of Makati into a commercial center with international standards.
The building sits in Makati, Manila's financial center, making it easy to reach on foot from nearby business districts. Most of the upper floors are occupied by private offices, so visitor access is generally limited to the ground-level retail areas.
After the long construction pause, engineers conducted thorough testing to verify the stability of the completed structural sections. This assessment gave the developers confidence to finish the project while ensuring the existing framework remained sound.
