Giurgeni – Vadu Oii Bridge

The Giurgeni-Vadu Oii Bridge extends 1,456 meters across the Danube River with four vehicle lanes and two separate walkways for pedestrians.

The construction team from IPTANA Bucharest completed this infrastructure project in December 1970, establishing a fundamental link between Muntenia and Dobruja regions.

The bridge construction marked a period of major development in Romania, transforming the movement patterns between agricultural communities on both sides of the Danube.

Located on national road DN2A and European route E60, the bridge contains three central spans of 160 meters each and two additional spans of 120 meters.

The bridge structure includes two viaducts featuring 16 spans of 46 meters each, demonstrating advanced engineering techniques of the 1970s.
