Oromolu House, Historic monument on Aviatorilor Boulevard, Bucharest, Romania.
Oromolu House is a historic monument on Aviatorilor Boulevard in Bucharest with white walls and grand proportions. The facade displays rich ornaments including garlands, consoles, meanders, and oval frames supported by cherub sculptures.
The house was built in 1927 based on architect Petre Antonescu's design and served as the residence of Mihail Oromolu, who held the position of governor at the National Bank of Romania. The building received protected heritage status under classification code B-II-m-B-18032.
The building shows French influence from an era when Romanian architects studied in Paris. You can see this style in the ornate details and overall design of the house.
The monument is located in Sector 1 and is easily accessible from the boulevard. Visitors should note this is a protected property and can admire the exterior from the public way.
The entrance is crowned by a distinctive metal and glass marquee shaped like a shell, which sets this house apart from other buildings of the same period. This decorative feature is a striking characteristic of the Beaux-Arts design of that era.
