Sevojno, Town in Zlatibor District, Serbia
Sevojno is a small town in the Zlatibor District of western Serbia, located on the edge of the city of Užice. The town is made up of residential streets lined with simple houses, alongside industrial buildings and small local shops set against a hilly backdrop.
Sevojno grew rapidly in the mid-20th century when industry expanded in the region and drew many working families to the area. In 2013, it became a separate municipality, giving the local community more say over its own affairs.
Life in Sevojno has long been shaped by factory work, and that connection to industry is visible in the buildings and the daily rhythm of the streets. On weekends, families gather at small cafes and local markets, where neighbors greet each other by name.
Sevojno is well connected by road to Užice, the nearest large city, where visitors can find a wider range of shops and services. Buses and cars are the main ways to get around, as the town itself has no large commercial centers.
Cars registered in Sevojno carry the plate code UE, which stands for Užice, reflecting how closely the two towns are linked. The local football club, FK Sevojno, later merged with FK Sloboda Užice, so fans from both towns now share a single team.
