Cabin of Peter the Great, First residential building in Saint Petersburg, Russia
The wooden cabin measures 60 square meters and contains three rooms: a living room, bedroom, and study with Peter the Great's authentic possessions.
Constructed in May 1703 by soldiers of the Semyonovskiy Regiment, the cabin served as Peter the Great's residence until 1708 during Saint Petersburg's construction.
The structure combines traditional Russian izba architecture with Dutch elements, featuring large windows and a high roof covered with wooden tiles.
Located at 6 Petrovskaya Naberezhnaya, the museum opens daily from 10:00 to 18:00, except Tuesdays, with an entrance fee of 200 rubles.
The walls were painted red to simulate brick appearance due to budget constraints, leading to the rooms being called the red chambers.
