Kabanka

Kabanka is a protected mountain near Zheleznovodsk that rises to approximately 767 meters above sea level in the northern Caucasus landscape. The terrain features marked trails winding through forested slopes with several viewpoints that reveal the surrounding region.

The mountain gained prominence during the 19th century when the surrounding region became a health destination thanks to natural mineral springs. This period of development eventually led to the area being formally protected.

The mountain is woven into daily life for residents of Zheleznovodsk, who regularly walk its trails and gather in the surrounding areas. It serves as a gathering spot where locals connect with the landscape and each other.

Plan visits during spring or autumn when weather conditions are milder and trail conditions are at their best. Parking areas are available near the base of the mountain close to Zheleznovodsk town.

The area around Kabanka contains several natural mineral springs that emerge from the mountain's geological formations. These springs played a key role in the region's early development as a health resort and remain a notable feature of the landscape.
