Сикияз-Тамак, Cave complex in Satka District, Russia
The Sikiyaz-Tamak system contains 43 karst formations including tunnels, labyrinths, natural bridges, and grottos within an area of 425 square meters.
Archaeological excavations within the caves revealed evidence of human habitation from seven different historical periods, along with remains of prehistoric animals.
The name derives from Bashkir language where 'tamak' means mouth or throat, and 'sikiyaz' refers to a valley of flowering pollen.
Visitors can access the cave complex from the village of Sikiyaz-Tamak, located 36 kilometers from Satka and 214 kilometers from Chelyabinsk.
The underground sanctuary within the cave system contains preserved cave bear skulls and artifacts from Stone and Bronze Age settlements.
