Kráľova studňa

Kráľova studňa is a mountain summit in the Great Fatra range located at approximately 1400 meters elevation along the main ridge. The peak features gradual slopes and offers views across the surrounding mountains and valleys below.

The summit became known in the medieval period and hosted a significant royal meeting in the 15th century between two European kingdoms. This encounter linked the region's history to broader European political developments.

The name reflects old local traditions tied to the mountain region and its people. Communities have used this location for generations as part of their outdoor heritage and connection to the landscape.

Several marked trails lead to the summit, with the easiest access starting from Turecká village and requiring a few hours of hiking. The best visiting season is during warmer months when trails are dry and easy to walk.

The location houses an observation point for stargazing within a protected dark sky area, allowing excellent views of star constellations. Low light pollution at this elevation makes it valuable for those interested in astronomy.
