Borišov

Borišov is a mountain summit in the Greater Fatra Range, reaching 1,508 meters in elevation. The peak rises above a landscape of open meadows encircled by thick forests that characterize this mountain region.

Borišov is part of an alpine landscape that has evolved under natural conditions over centuries. The northern side of the mountain contains primeval forest areas that have remained protected for a long time.

The Greater Fatra mountains, including Borišov, represent essential natural landmarks for Slovak outdoor activities throughout all seasons of the year.

The summit can be reached from several nearby villages, including Belá-Dulice, Necpaly, and Liptovské Revúce. A mountain lodge called Chata pod Borišovom provides year-round accommodation for those hiking in the area.

The southern face of the mountain is known for one of Slovakia's largest avalanche slopes. These steep inclines have created distinctly different vegetation and weather conditions that set the southern side apart from the rest of the massif.
