Kathu, Administrative district in Phuket Island, Thailand.
Located between Phuket town and Patong Beach, Kathu spans 67 square kilometers of varied terrain at 33 meters above sea level.
The district gained its current administrative status in 1959 after being temporarily reduced to a minor district subordinate to Mueang Phuket in 1938.
The Tong Yong Su shrine stands as a memorial to 413 Chinese residents who perished in a tragic conflict during King Mongkut's reign.
The district contains three sub-districts - Kathu, Patong, and Kamala - with Patong operating as a municipal town and Kamala managed by local administration.
Andamanda Phuket water park incorporates elements of Thai mythology throughout its attractions and swimming areas, connecting entertainment with traditional stories.
