Kathu

Kathu is an administrative district on Phuket Island positioned between Phuket town and Patong Beach. The area comprises three sub-districts and features varied terrain with both developed zones and natural surroundings.

The district was reorganized into its current form in 1959 after having been reduced to a minor area two decades earlier. This administrative change shaped how the territory would develop and function going forward.

The Tong Yong Su shrine reflects how the community preserves memories of its past through a place of remembrance. Visitors can see how this location serves as a focal point for honoring those who came before.
