Wat Suwan Khiri Khet, Buddhist temple in Karon, Thailand
The temple complex spans 12,000 square meters and features two large Naga serpent statues guarding the entrance to the sacred grounds.
Founded in 1895, Wat Suwan Khiri Khet stands as a testament to traditional Buddhist architecture, combining Chinese and Thai design elements throughout its structure.
The temple walls display detailed murals depicting Buddha's life journey, while twenty Buddha statues occupy the main hall and ordination chamber.
Located half a kilometer from Karon Beach on Patak Road, the temple opens daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM without entrance fees.
Every Tuesday and Saturday, the temple grounds transform into a market where vendors sell local food and traditional items until late evening.
