Nai Harn beach

Nai Harn Beach is a sandy shore on Phuket's southern tip with pale sand and turquoise water, framed by tall casuarina trees and green hills rising behind. The cove stretches approximately 700 meters and feels sheltered by the natural landscape that surrounds it on three sides.

A major resort opened here in the 1970s, putting the location on Phuket's tourism map during the island's early development period. The area has since grown carefully while retaining much of its original quieter character.

The beach remains a working space where local fishermen maintain their daily routines and small family-run restaurants depend on the sea for their livelihood. This blend of tourism and traditional work gives the shore a lived-in feeling rather than a purely recreational one.

The water is calmest and safest for swimming from December through May, when conditions favor recreation and water activities. Loungers and umbrellas are available for rent, and several casual restaurants sit near the shore for refreshments.

A freshwater stream flowing from nearby Nai Harn Lake crosses the southern end of the shore, creating a natural divide that separates the beach into two distinct parts. Visitors must wade through this shallow stream to reach the further western section.
