Kata Noi Beach is a crescent-shaped stretch of white sand approximately 850 meters long, lined with green hills on both sides overlooking the Andaman Sea. The seafloor slopes gently, the water is clear, and the sand remains soft and bright throughout the shoreline.
The beach gained prominence in the 1980s when the Katathani Resort became the first major lodging to establish itself in this remote coastal area. Since then, development has proceeded gradually while the spot remained quieter than nearby beaches.
Local fishermen still launch their wooden boats each morning from the southern end, working with methods that have been passed down for generations. This daily rhythm shows how the community maintains a deep connection to the sea and its resources.
The best swimming period runs from November to April when seas are calm; during May through October, monsoon swells bring strong waves. Note that the southern headland stands higher than the beach level, offering elevated views, while the bay itself remains easy to access.
The southern headland houses a raised viewpoint where all three connected bays become visible at once: this beach, Kata Yai, and Karon. This spot is also reachable on foot via short paths, giving a perspective of the coastline that cannot be seen from the sand itself.
