Phuket Zoo is an animal park on approximately 5 hectares of land near Phuket Bay with exhibits for tigers, monkeys, elephants, crocodiles, and tropical birds. The facility also includes an aquarium section displaying marine creatures alongside the land animal exhibits.
The zoo was established in 1997 as a private facility and grew into a tourist destination. Operations were temporarily suspended in 2020.
The facility showcases native animal species and training practices common to Southeast Asia. Visitors can observe how local methods of animal handling are demonstrated throughout the day.
The facility is located on Soi Palai in Chalong and operates daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Photography is permitted throughout the grounds.
The park combines land animal enclosures with a separate aquarium section, offering a dual focus on terrestrial and marine wildlife. This division allows visitors to explore a wider range of habitats in one location.
