Karon View Point, Coastal viewpoint in Phuket, Thailand
Karon View Point is an elevated coastal viewpoint in Phuket where three distinct beaches come into view: Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon stretching northward. The site sits on a hillside that overlooks these shorelines and the Andaman Sea beyond them.
The viewpoint was originally named Kata Viewpoint but later renamed to reflect its orientation toward the northern Karon Beach. This name change marked a shift in how the location was understood and promoted.
The place is known locally as Khao Saam Haad, meaning Three Beaches Hill. Locals named it this way because of the three shorelines you can see stretching below from this spot.
You can reach the viewpoint by following the road past Orchidacea Resort, where parking is readily available at the top. Refreshment vendors operate near the pavilion, making it convenient to spend time here.
A large pavilion at this spot provides shade and a good place to photograph the surroundings, particularly the small island of Koh Poo. On clear days, this island becomes visible in the distance from this vantage point.
