Aksaray Museum

The Aksaray Museum spans across 10,200 square meters of open space and 2,400 square meters of closed space in a three-story building with Seljukid architectural elements.

Prior to its 2014 establishment, the museum collection originated in 1969 at the Zinciriye Medrese, marking the beginning of regional artifact preservation.

The museum houses 15,639 artifacts, including the Aksaray stele with Hittite Storm God relief and Luwian inscriptions measuring 88 by 99 centimeters.

Located on state highway D.750 connecting southern Turkey, the museum provides multilingual guided tours and educational programs for visitors throughout the year.

The collection features twelve preserved mummies from the Byzantine period, including two rare cat mummies that demonstrate ancient preservation techniques.
