The Diyarbakır Archaeology Museum displays a collection of 35,563 coins and archaeological artifacts from multiple civilizations within the İçkale complex of historical buildings.
Founded in 1934 during the early Turkish Republic period, the museum preserves objects from Prehistoric, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, and later historical periods.
The museum exhibits items from Urartian, Assyrian, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods, representing the continuous settlement of southeastern Anatolia.
The museum operates daily from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM in summer and 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in winter, with an entrance fee of 70 Turkish Lira.
Located within the İçkale complex, the museum incorporates fourteen registered historical structures including the Artuklu Palace and Saint George Church.
