Dizang Temple, Xinzhuang

Dizang Temple is a Chinese temple in Xinzhuang District featuring multiple buildings arranged around courtyards with carved statues and ornate stone pillars throughout. The site was founded in 1757 as a shrine for public masters and later transformed into a temple dedicated to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. This shift reflects how the religious purpose of the place evolved over the centuries.

People come here to pray to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, a figure in Buddhism known for compassion and protection. Visitors light incense and leave offerings as part of their personal devotion in the temple's inner halls.

Two days before May 1st, the temple holds the Anfang ceremony where participants perform rituals to drive away negative spirits, receiving special blessing cakes and safety amulets in return. This annual event brings together believers who follow this centuries-old spiritual practice.
