The residence, constructed in 1859, received its commission after Lee Teng-fan earned recognition from Emperor Sien-feng through local government recommendation.

The interior displays numerous traditional wood carvings, calligraphy pieces, and paintings that demonstrate the artistic techniques of 19th-century Taiwanese craftsmen.

A large semi-circular pool and mud brick wall encompass the property, following specific architectural principles for protection and spatial organization.
