Daxi District

The district extends over 105 square kilometers of land, incorporating mountains, rivers, and agricultural areas within the eastern section of Taoyuan City.

The Atayal indigenous people named the local river Takoham, which influenced various language translations before Han settlers arrived in the late 18th century.

The district maintains traditional wooden furniture crafting methods, with numerous workshops producing pieces using techniques passed down through multiple generations.

Visitors reach Daxi through regular bus services from Taoyuan Station and Zhongli Station, with connections to National Highway No. 3 and Provincial Highway No. 66.

The district houses the mausoleums of two former Taiwanese leaders, Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo, located in Cihu and Touliao respectively.
