The market was founded in 1998 near Cingnian Road and relocated later to accommodate growing needs. The move to its current location between Ruixing Road and Bo'ai Road allowed the site to expand its operations.

Vendors here prepare fermented tofu by braising it rather than frying, giving this Taiwanese classic a distinctive character. This cooking method is less common and produces a more subtle flavor that often surprises visitors.
