Dadong Arts Center, Arts center in Fongshan District, Taiwan
The Dadong Arts Center spans 36,470 square meters and features multiple exhibition spaces, theaters, a library, and an education center for diverse artistic activities.
Construction of the Dadong Arts Center began in September 2008, with MAYU architects and de Architekten Cie completing the project in March 2012.
The center functions as a regional cultural institution where local artists display their works and performers present theatrical and musical productions throughout the year.
Visitors can reach the center through Dadong Station on the Kaohsiung MRT, with operating hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM at 161 Guangyuan Road.
The building incorporates a semi-transparent membrane skylight that floats above the half-open square, creating natural illumination patterns across the architectural concrete structure.
