Dadong Arts Center

Dadong Arts Center is an arts facility in Fongshan with multiple exhibition spaces, theaters, a library, and an education center for diverse artistic activities. The building complex contains all the necessary rooms for rotating art presentations and various cultural events.

Construction began in September 2008 and the architects MAYU and de Architekten Cie completed the project in March 2012. It was created as an important cultural institution to serve the region's growing arts scene.

The center is a place where the local art scene thrives, with artists displaying their works and performers presenting theater and music throughout the year. It serves as a meeting point for the community to engage with contemporary and traditional artistic expression.

The center is easy to reach by transit, with direct access via Dadong Station on the Kaohsiung MRT line. The facility is open during daytime hours and provides clear wayfinding and information for visitors.

The building features a semi-transparent membrane skylight that floats above an open plaza, casting natural light patterns across the concrete structure. This design creates a distinctive interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces.
