Chungcheng Stadium, Sports stadium in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Chungcheng Stadium is a sports facility in Lingya District featuring a standard athletics track, soccer field, and concrete grandstands with covered seating for about 30,000 spectators. The layout accommodates various sporting events under protective structures.
The stadium opened in 1986 and served as the largest sports venue in Kaohsiung until the National Stadium was built. It became an important host for major regional competitions from its early years.
The venue hosted major international performances, most notably when Michael Jackson attracted thousands of fans during his HIStory World Tour in October 1996. These large-scale entertainment events left a lasting mark on how locals remember the site.
The stadium connects easily to public transit via the Orange Line at Lingya Sports Park Station, making it convenient to reach by train. If driving, car and motorcycle parking spaces are available on site.
The site is being transformed into a mixed-use sports park called Kaohsiung Highline, scheduled to open at the end of 2024. This project creates new outdoor recreational spaces for the city.
