Built in 1986, the stadium immediately hosted the Taiwan Provincial Games and remained the largest sports facility in Kaohsiung until the completion of National Stadium.
Michael Jackson performed at the stadium during his HIStory World Tour in October 1996, drawing 35,000 fans for this significant international entertainment event.
The facility connects to public transportation through the Orange Line at Lingya Sports Park Station and offers 69 parking spaces for cars and motorcycles.
The stadium transforms into Kaohsiung Highline, a mixed-use sports park scheduled for completion in late 2024, addressing the need for urban recreational spaces.
