V. Tarnovskyi House Museum, Historical museum building in Chernihiv, Ukraine.
The V. Tarnovskyi House Museum contains 230,000 monuments of material culture, representing the heritage of northeastern Ukraine through generations.
Founded in 1896, the museum initially opened as part of the Chernigov Province Scientific Archive Commission before becoming a dedicated Ukrainian antiquities institution in 1902.
The museum collection includes archaeological findings, historical documents, ethnographic materials, and traditional Ukrainian artifacts spanning several centuries.
Following recent damage to the structure, portions of the museum remain closed while restoration work continues to preserve the remaining architectural elements.
The museum houses the personal collection of Vasyl Tarnovsky Jr., who gathered regional antiquities throughout his life to create this educational institution.
