West Bank Light, Lighthouse on Staten Island, United States
The West Bank Light features a cast iron tower with a brown base rising 17 meters above the waters of Lower New York Bay.
Constructed in 1901, this lighthouse guided vessels through the Ambrose Channel, supporting maritime navigation and trade in New York Harbor.
The structure represents early 20th-century lighthouse engineering and stands as a testament to New York's maritime development.
The lighthouse emits white light visible for 30 kilometers and red light visible for 22 kilometers, with two fog signal blasts every 20 seconds.
The keeper's dwelling spans 140 square meters and remains visible from Coney Island's Riegelmann Boardwalk and Staten Island's South Beach.
