The mansion exhibits over 17,000 objects, including French decorative arts, Russian imperial artifacts, and extensive gardens across 25 acres of landscaped grounds.
Marjorie Merriweather Post purchased the estate in the 1950s and filled it with collections acquired during her time as wife of the ambassador to Soviet Union.
The collection features two imperial Fabergé eggs, portraits of Catherine the Great, and furniture pieces designed for Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
The museum offers guided tours in multiple languages, maintaining regular hours from Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The rose garden contains a pink granite monument where Post's ashes rest, surrounded by a wood and brick pergola with climbing roses and white wisteria.
