SPS Tower, Skyscraper in Central Minneapolis, United States
SPS Tower is a 33-story glass and steel high-rise in Minneapolis's business district. The building connects to neighboring structures through the skyway system, creating seamless interior passages between multiple locations.
The tower was built in 1987 as part of a period of urban development in downtown Minneapolis. It replaced the Senator Hotel that previously occupied this site.
Business professionals gather here for meetings and corporate events throughout the year, making it an important point on the downtown map. The tower serves as a working hub where the local business community conducts its daily operations.
The building connects to surrounding structures through the Minneapolis skyway system, offering protected passages during harsh winter weather. Visitors can move between multiple locations without stepping outside.
The original design called for two towers with a bow-tie shaped footprint, but only the eastern one was completed. The unused space was eventually transformed into a planted plaza area.
