Borough of Manhattan Community College is located at Fiterman Hall, 245 Greenwich Street, containing classrooms, science laboratories, and administrative spaces across multiple floors. The building also houses computer centers, library resources, and student support services throughout its interior.
The building was originally donated in 1993 as a new educational facility for the college community. It was damaged on September 11, 2001, and was completely rebuilt with improved infrastructure before reopening in 2012.
The college serves students from neighborhoods across the city, bringing together people from different backgrounds in shared spaces where they work and study together.
The building is accessible during campus hours, with multiple entrances along Greenwich Street to help you find your way. It connects well to nearby subway stations, making it easy to reach by public transportation.
This was the largest building donation ever given to a community college in American history, a gift from Miles and Shirley Fiterman. Its reconstruction after 2001 became part of the broader recovery effort that transformed the neighborhood.
