Duida-Marahuaca National Park

The park encompasses tepuis Duida and Marahuaca, towering mountains with vertical walls reaching heights of 2,700 and 2,900 meters respectively.

The Venezuelan government established Duida-Marahuaca National Park on December 12, 1978, during Carlos Andrés Pérez's first presidential term.

Indigenous communities maintain their ancestral way of life within the park boundaries, preserving traditional practices in the Amazon rainforest.

Access to the park requires river navigation through the Orinoco, Padamo, or Cunucunuma rivers, with landing strips available at Esmeralda and Culebra.

Scientists have documented numerous endemic plant species in the park, with approximately 19 percent of flora found nowhere else on Earth.
