Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography

The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography sits in a classical building across from Gosha Gala Gates, positioned between Great Gala Street and Tower Street in the old quarter. The collection spans artifacts from the Stone Age through the late Middle Ages and is organized into two main sections.

The building was originally constructed as a merchant's residence and became known as the Chained House. After being seized in the 1930s, it served as a factory before eventually being converted into this museum.

The ethnography section displays everyday objects and traditional clothing from the 19th and early 20th centuries that reflect how people in the city lived. These items show the practices and skills that were part of daily life in that era.

Admission is free, but access is limited to specific days of the week. The entrance is located on Boyuk Gala Street, and it is worth checking opening times before your visit.
