Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, Archaeological and ethnographic museum in Icherisheher district, Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography occupies a classical building across from Gosha Gala Gates, dividing Great Gala and Tower Streets in Baku.
The structure, known as the Chained House, belonged to merchant Haji Mammadhuseyn Mammadov before becoming a sewing factory after its 1930 confiscation by customs.
The ethnography section presents materials from the 19th and early 20th centuries, documenting the daily practices and traditions of Azerbaijani communities.
Visitors can explore the museum free of charge on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00 and 17:00, with access through 42 Boyuk Gala Street.
Following restoration in 2008, the museum expanded its collection to 2,000 exhibits, including artifacts from the Stone Age through the late Middle Ages.
