Multani Caravanserai, Medieval caravanserai in Icherisheher, Azerbaijan.
The Multani Caravanserai features a square layout with individual cells arranged around a central courtyard containing an essential water well for travelers.
Built in the 14th century, this structure served as a primary accommodation point for merchants traveling from Multan, in present-day Pakistan, along the trade routes.
The building reflects the intersection of Persian, Arab, and Azerbaijani architectural traditions while maintaining its role as a gathering place for diverse merchant communities.
Located opposite the Bukhara Caravanserai, the structure now houses a restaurant serving Azerbaijani cuisine and underwent restoration work starting in 2020.
Archaeological investigations revealed that the caravanserai was constructed on top of an earlier structure, adding layers to the architectural history of Baku.
