Rilski ezera hut

Rilski ezera hut is a multi-story lodge located at 2000 meters elevation beside the Seven Rila Lakes in the protected mountain landscape. The facility provides sleeping quarters and dining areas directly within the alpine environment for visitors to rest between outdoor activities.

The hut was constructed during the 1980s when tourism in Bulgaria's mountain regions began to expand significantly. This development opened access to the high alpine landscape for a broader range of visitors and climbers.

The hut serves as a meeting place where hikers and mountaineers gather to explore the high alpine terrain together. Local guides and visitors share stories about the lakes and mountains that surround the area.

You can reach the lodge by chairlift from Pionerska station or by following a marked trail from Sapareva Banya, which takes about three hours on foot. The facility has basic services for lodging and meals, and the warmer months offer the most comfortable visiting conditions.

The hut has a ski slope that extends 950 meters down the mountainside, equipped with a lift system that can transport about 700 people per hour during winter. This winter sports facility transforms the site into a destination for snow activities alongside the alpine hiking available in other seasons.
