Ermita de San Telmo, Heritage church in Puerto de la Cruz, Spain
The hermitage features a rectangular floor plan with Arab tile roof, decorated with geometric patterns and two identical basalt stone porticos.
Built during the 17th century, this chapel devoted to Saint Telmo underwent reconstruction after a fire in 1778 and storm damage fifty years later.
German architect Fred Hellweg renovated the interior while preserving historical elements, leading to German-language masses starting in 1967.
The hermitage stands at one end of San Telmo Promenade, offering direct access to restaurants, shops, and natural swimming pools.
The interior displays Mudejar-style wooden framework with geometric carvings and volute-shaped supports, complemented by baroque decorative paintings.
