Collados del Asón Natural Park

The park extends across 4,740 hectares of limestone mountains, featuring beech forests, Cantabrian holm oaks, and meadows for livestock grazing.

The formation of the park's current landscape originates from glacial activity during the Quaternary Period, creating notable features such as the Circo de Hondojón.

The isolated location of the park, with only the small neighborhood of Asón within its boundaries, has maintained traditional pastoral practices across generations.

The park's interpretation center provides information about hiking trails that range from 240 to 1,632 meters in elevation across the protected area.

The limestone terrain contains an extensive network of karstic formations shaped by water erosion, creating a distinctive geological landscape in northern Spain.
