Church of San Pedro de los Francos

The Church of San Pedro de los Francos is a place of worship featuring Mudéjar architectural elements in Calatayud. Its interior contains three naves and apses, with a Gothic entrance displaying stone sculptures and a richly decorated altar space.

This sanctuary was established following the reconquest of the city in 1120 as a memorial to troops who participated in the military campaign. Later renovations and decorative additions, particularly during the 1600s, gradually transformed its internal appearance.

The church blends Islamic building techniques with Christian religious imagery throughout its interior spaces. The gilded altar from the 17th century shows how different artistic traditions came together in this region.
