Casa de la India

Casa de la India is a cultural center in Valladolid housed in a building with Oriental design elements. It provides exhibition spaces, event areas for workshops and conferences, and a specialized library focused on Indian culture.

The center was established in 2003 through collaboration between the Indian Embassy in Madrid, Valladolid City Council, and the University of Valladolid. This partnership made it possible to create a space connecting Indian culture with the local community.

The center presents Indian art forms and dance traditions that visitors can watch and experience firsthand. It serves as a meeting place where people gather to see traditional Indian performances and join in workshops.

The center is open Monday through Friday, with extended afternoon hours Tuesday through Friday for additional activities. Visitors should check ahead to see what exhibitions or events are happening to make the most of their visit.

The center runs LABINDIA, a research initiative that supports artistic collaboration between Spanish and Indian artists. This project brings together performers and creators to develop new intercultural works.
