Church of San Pedro, Valladolid, Renaissance Catholic church in Valladolid, Spain.
The Church of San Pedro is a Renaissance building constructed from stone and brick with a single nave that ends in a flat wall. Tuscan pilasters support a projecting entablature that shapes the clean lines of the interior.
The site has been documented since 1278 and underwent major transformation in 1571 when the parish priest ordered the dismantling of the main altarpiece. This period marked the beginning of significant changes to the building's structure.
The interior features a restored altarpiece completed in 2016 thanks to a parishioner's bequest. This artwork remains central to the worship and devotional life of the local community.
The church sits behind the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid and is accessible on foot during daylight hours. Regular services held by the local community offer a natural way to experience the space.
The facade underwent major reconstruction in 1950 when the original small tower was replaced with two bell gables. A decade later the building received a new covering of Campaspero limestone in 1967.
