Tierra del Trigo

Tierra del Trigo is an agricultural village situated at about 500 meters (1,600 feet) elevation in the municipality of Los Silos in northern Tenerife. The landscape features terraced cultivation and extensive vineyards spread across the rolling slopes.

The village takes its name from wheat cultivation that once dominated the area and formed its economic foundation. Over time, the focus shifted to viticulture, which now shapes the agricultural activity in this place.

The name refers to wheat farming from earlier times, though vineyards now dominate the landscape. Today, visitors observe how the community maintains its rural identity through agriculture.

Access is by way of roads TF-42 and TF-423, though winding mountain roads require attentive driving. The village sits roughly 3 kilometers from Los Silos town center and works well for hikers wanting to explore the PR TF-53.1 trail.

The village sits along the certified PR TF-53.1 hiking trail, which is part of the island's official pathway network. This well-marked route connects agricultural lands and allows visitors to explore the terraced landscape on foot.
