Market of San Miguel, Glass and iron marketplace at Plaza San Miguel, Madrid, Spain
The Market of San Miguel spans 1200 square meters and features 30 commercial stalls beneath a glass and iron structure with ornate decorative elements.
Architect Alfonso Dubé designed this iron and glass market building, which opened in 1916 as a local food market and transformed into a gourmet destination in 2009.
The market represents Spanish gastronomy through specialized vendors offering regional products from Galician seafood to Basque pintxos and Andalusian olive oils.
The market welcomes visitors from 10 AM to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and until 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, with wheelchair access throughout.
Four permanent sections divide the market space: seafood, meat and charcuterie, fresh produce, and prepared foods with wine and tapas bars.
