Playa de Amadores

Playa de Amadores is a sand beach in Mogán, in the Canary Islands, with a pale surface and gentle entry into the sea. Two artificial breakwaters enclose the swimming area on both sides and create calmer water than neighboring stretches of coast.

The cove was built in the early 2000s as a planned project to extend the coastline in this municipality. The sand was brought from the Caribbean to create a pale surface that differs from the volcanic beaches in the area.

The name of this place recalls earlier connections between the islands and is now associated mainly with families and quiet beachgoers. Many visitors come for the sheltered setting and choose this spot when they want calm water and little wind.

Chairs and umbrellas can be rented on site, along with equipment for water activities. Shops and restaurants line the promenade right behind the sand and offer food and drinks throughout the day.

Rules forbid loud music and ball games until 6 PM, creating a quieter atmosphere than at other beaches on Gran Canaria. These regulations shape the character of the strand and attract visitors who prefer a relaxed setting.
