Description
The Compañía Colonial building is a modernist structure with vertical balconies on its sides and horizontal ones across the center. The facade displays ceramic embellishments and shows a characteristic blend of curved lines and geometric forms.
History
The building was constructed between 1906 and 1909 by architects Miguel Mathet and his son Jerónimo Pedro Mathet. Madrid City Council recognized the construction in 1908 by awarding it a prize for its innovative design.

Three ceramic panels by Daniel Zuloaga decorate the facade, showing coffee, tea, and cacao. These images represent the main products that the company traded and sold at that time.
