Hossa National Park

The park features 90 kilometers of marked trails through pine forests, connecting numerous lakes, ponds, and distinctive esker formations across its territory.

Archaeological findings from nearly 10,000 years ago demonstrate the area's long history as a hunting ground for the Sámi people and early settlers.

The Värikallio rock paintings, dating back 3,500 years, represent Finland's largest prehistoric art collection, depicting ancient shamanistic traditions and hunting practices.

Visitors can access multiple wheelchair-friendly facilities, including trails, fishing jetties, rental cottages, and the main visitor center operating from March to October.

The water routes through Hossa connected ancient travelers from Lake Ladoga to the Arctic Ocean and from the Gulf of Bothnia to the White Sea.
