K-Kampus, Corporate headquarters in Verkkosaari, Finland.
K-Kampus is an office building in the former harbor district of Kalasatama featuring light brick elevations, exposed concrete, and extensive glass panels. The structure houses workspace across multiple levels and connects directly to a shopping mall and metro station.
The building was designed by JKMM Architects and Juha Mäki-Jyllilä and completed in 2019. It marks the transformation of the former port and industrial area into a modern business district.
The interior spaces show Nordic design principles with wooden flooring and ceiling treatments that create a natural working environment. This approach reflects Finnish preferences for simple, functional design that connects people to materials.
The building stands next to a major shopping complex and metro station that connects quickly to central Helsinki. Its location makes arrival by public transport easy and places it in a growing neighborhood with new cafes and restaurants.
At the center of the building sits a glazed atrium with a prominent staircase that serves as a gathering place. This space can shift between everyday meetings and larger events depending on how people choose to use it.
