Kerlescan alignments, Neolithic megalithic site in Carnac, France.
The Kerlescan alignments contain 555 standing stones arranged in 13 parallel rows, forming a structured prehistoric monument in the Breton landscape.
The stone alignments date back to approximately 4500 BCE, representing one of the largest collections of arranged megalithic stones from the Neolithic period.
Local Breton traditions connect these stone formations to ancient burial practices and ceremonial gatherings of prehistoric communities in the region.
Visitors can access the site through marked paths and obtain information from educational panels detailing the archaeological importance of the megalithic rows.
The western end features an enclosure of 39 menhirs, closed by an elevated bank marked with a prominent 3.7-meter-high standing stone.
