Euralille, Central business district in Lille, France
Euralille is a business district in Lille combining modern buildings with retail spaces, offices, and transportation hubs. The area houses numerous shops across a substantial expanse and provides direct access to two major train stations and metro lines.
Development of this district began in 1994 with the goal of creating a modern business center connecting Paris, Brussels, and London. The project, led by architect Jean Nouvel, linked European cities through contemporary infrastructure.
The district serves as a meeting point between French and international business, where visitors from different countries converge. The mixture of retail and office spaces creates a cosmopolitan character that reflects Lille's role as a European trading hub.
The area is easily reached by metro lines 1 and 2 and has a large number of parking spaces for cars. Visitors should know it gets quite crowded during the day, particularly around midday and early evening.
The buildings received sustainability certifications for their management practices and were specially designed to connect European transport networks. The architect's design considered the vision of a seamless connection between the train stations and commercial spaces.
